What is Spinal stenosis?

Spinal stenosis is a symptom of feeling pain as the circular canal, in which the nerves of spine go down,’ narrows and thus the nerves get pressured. The main cause of narrowing spinal canal is aging. One of the distinct symptoms of spinal stenosis is neurological limping. This refers to a case in which a bent old woman cries for numb legs or sits down to rest shortly after walking toward a bus stop.

Symptoms

Elders sometimes say that they feel pain when they straighten their back or lean backward, and this is the symptom of spinal stenosis. For patients with spinal stenosis, the pain is alleviated when one stays still but comes back when one moves. This is because the canal inside the spine narrows and pressures the nerves. As one ages, the bones get degraded, weakened, and do not get hard, so the spine gets narrowing. Thus, the spinal canal keeps narrowing.
